Micah John cont.

Micah John relaxing after a good feed!

Both boys swaddled!

Micah John Taflinger has finally arrived and we feel so very blessed!!

Here is our Birth Story....

We arrived at Howard Regional Hospital Sunday night to begin the induction process. I was given three mild doses of Cervidil to loosen my cervix throughout the night and then Pitocin in the morning. I began having intense contractions around 10a.m on Monday. By 11a.m. I was given an epidural and Micah arrived at 12:25p.m after only four pushes!! What a miracle!!
Weight: 6.8 lbs
Length: 20 inches
Micah looks very similar to Caleb but with a slightly different chin and we think he has some wave to his hair. He is more laid-back [so far] and is taking well to breast-feeding [Thank you Jesus]!!
Our hospital experience was wonderful and we feel so very blessed by the kindness shown to us by our doctor and nurses! We arrived home today and Caleb greeted Micah with love! We can tell they are going to be the best of friends!
Thank you for all of your cards, calls, visits, and prayers!
Lord, we once again dedicate Micah John to You!! We love him more than words can say!

Induction set for Sunday!!

Micah's Room

Family and Friends

I recently returned from my 40 week Doctor's appointment!! I can't believe it's already been 40 weeks!

Here's the news: I look good so we are going to wait just a few more days to see if this baby will come on his own. However, if the baby is not here by Sunday I am going in to be induced at 6:00p.m and hopefully the baby will be here on Monday, Jan 26th 2009!!! Sounds like a wonderful day to have a baby!!

Thank you for all of your calls and prayers!!

We love you and the next post will contain Micah John Taflinger!!!

Baby Micah Update!

Caleb reading the morning funnies!
I went to my 39 week appointment today [where does the time go]? I am 2 cm dilated and 50% effaced! My parents are packing their bags and heading down this weekend just in case things begin progressing. He said that since my fluids are a bit low he won't let me go much longer than next Thursday!! Can you believe that within a few short days baby Micah will be in my arms!!!! Surreal.
On a different note, Caleb is growing like a weed! Each day we are more impressed with his verbal skills and brain power! He is learning the word "same." He will often point to two objects that are similar to show us how they are alike. He can make various animal noises and his vocabulary is growing by the day! He loves books and will often play with them for long periods of time! Due to the extreme cold weather recently, we have read numerous books and he loves every minute of it!
Well, I'm off to nest some more- this time I feel much more prepared to greet Micah. I know what to expect [for the most part] and am aware of my sleepless nights ahead!! :)
Thank you Jesus for the gift of my boys! We love you!

This first picture just makes me laugh because if you know Caleb he does not sit still for long. So Travis and I ran to get the camera for his brief occurrence of Caleb watching "Hi5" [a dancing show].
Caleb even snuggled up with Daddy to watch for a few minutes!!! Unbelievable!

"Okay, back to my pots and pans- ma, can you do something about my hair here!"

Feeding himself yogurt....slowly but surely we are making progress with our fine motor skills!

38 weeks!

Here I am with my 38 week belly!! I can't believe that in just a few short days I will be holding my second born son!! I have been trying to have as much "Caleb Time" as possible since I know that soon, life will become hectic. Tonight as I was sitting on the couch watching Caleb play with his pots, he all of a sudden stopped and hopped up on the couch. Warmed by his sudden affection I proceeded to thank him just in time to discover that his foot was on my shoulder and he was using me to scale the wall!! That little man- he's such a climber, I literally can't leave him alone for more than 5 seconds for fear that he will be suspended from the ceiling fan- we wouldn't have him any other way!!
Every since his debut at Grammy's on Christmas Eve, all Caleb wants to do is dance- and let's just say that he has got some great moves! I find myself laughing all day long with him!
The nursery is ready for Micah's arrival and I feel more more prepared with baby number two. I am still feeling wonderful [Thank you Jesus] and we are so excited to meet baby Micah!

Chuckie Cheese!

Here is Caleb and Daddy checking out a racing game!
Caleb is starting to learn and recognize his animals [thanks to Grandma P's Christmas gift!]. Caleb ran up to the horse and proceeded to making a sound like this animal! He enjoyed the horse...until it started moving!!

Caleb and Chuckie!

So sweet in Jack's little recliner!
PRAISE THE LORD for a great doctor's report today!! My doctor was a little concerned about my size so he ordered an additional ultrasound to ensure that my placenta and fluid levels were acceptable. They estimated that Micah currently weighs: 6 pounds 5 ounces!!! This is more than Caleb weighed full term! My fluids looked great and there is no reason for concern. I had a non-stress test and Micah again performed great! Thank you Jesus for the good report!!
We are so excited to meet Micah- in the ultrasound it appears that he has very big lips and a chubby little face! :)
Thank you for all of your prayers!
