Caleb: Mom your jeans are ripped.

Lisa: "I know I like them that way. That's how I bought them"
Caleb [pause] "Mom, no one likes ripped stuff. You are just teasing me."

We were blessed to have Grammy and Pa Ohio come up to stay the weekend with us to celebrate Micah's 2nd Birthday. Can you believe it's already been 2 years!

We had just a great trip! Dad of course worked on several projects around the house and then in the evenings we did viewed several "Sacred Marriage" DVD's. My parents are teaching the class at their church so we had mini discussions after each show!! The nights ended with some Christian Comedy shows that I got at the Library- hehe

Needless to say we are so grateful for these trips to Kokomo, IN and miss them so much!

So sorry for the poor quality of pictures. My Black Friday purchase is proving to be less than par! :(

I've got two semi-sick kiddo's so I better pack it up...it could be a long night!

Money Savers....

So I took the boys to the Muncie Children's Museum [right by Ball State University]. Every third Saturday it is FREE. Compared to the Indy Children's Museum, it's much more age-appropriate for my boys. I'd say it'd be great for those 5 and under. They loved it! In fact, as we entered the museum Caleb was jumping up and down and exclaiming, "This IS AWESOME!!!" Here we have Caleb milking a cow...
At the museum there was a grocery store. The kids could pick out healthy food and then were able to be their own cashier. The museum also had a kitchen with small appliances, a semi-truck [we were at that exhibit F.O.R.E.V.E.R], a boat that they could fish out of, blocks, water exhibit, a barn, an ant farm, and too many other things to list. Overall, a great FREE day!

Speaking of ways to save money, pictured above is Micah's Birthday Gifts. I purchased all of these for only $2.76$

The two puzzles and game were a "trade-in' at Here We Grow Again. Every few months I'll go through the boys toys and trade them in at our local re-sale shop for more age-appropriate ones. Most cities have such stores and it's a great way to recycle your toys. Then I picked up the four books at Goodwill for $.69 each=$2.76 total!

Lastly, on Zenni.com I got these great prescription glasses for $13.99 shipped! Go to the site and you can chose from frames starting at just $6.95. You then enter your prescription and they will fill them for you! As a busy mom, I don't have the time or money to go into the eyeglass store and pick out the frames [all the while my boys would be trying on/breaking glasses]. So doing it online at a super discount allows me to pick out what I want in a non-rushed manner! Perfecto!

Bright Green, firey red, and white white snow!

It was time to touch-up our kitchen walls but we no longer had the same color on hand.....so we decided to spunk up the room with this 'Bright Olive.' We loved it so much we painted one wall in our bedroom [below]. The rest of the walls are a neutral cream.

The boys got a new sled and we were eager to try it out. Notice the snow is hardly covering the ground! :)

I'm reading, "Sacred Marriage" currently and it's been a powerful tool in my marriage.

My Favorite quote from the book: "Marriage is not supposed to make you happy but holy!" It deals with the issue that we often put many expectations on our spouse to meet all of our needs when really, God intended marriage to bring you closer to Him by revealing our character flaws.

1. To spend time everyday with the Lord.

2. Each year I have a Life Theme and this year I've decided upon the story of Ruth. I hope to study and explore its relevance to my life this following year.

3. Make two new friends

4. De-clutter

5. Try one new recipe a week.

6. Drink more water

7. Be more aware of the Holy Spirit.

Holiday Happenings

Caleb's Christmas Program at his preschool. He did such a great job singing and dancing on stage.
Pajama Time at the Library for Christmas stories! Caleb was picked to be a reindeer but he was more interested in 'picking' something else.....

Snow Day! Caleb was done after a few minutes. Micah wanted to stay outside all day. We don't have a sled yet so I pushed Micah around in a Laundry Basket [Thanks to my brilliant husbands invention we had so much fun!]
