Ohio Trip!
We had perfect weather for the Zoo and the kids loved it [but not as much as the parents!]
I took both boys up to Ohio for ten whole days since Travis was away on a Men's Retreat. We had a wonderful time and as promised here's our top TEN memories from the trip...
1. Watching Caleb play with his cousins
2. Holding sweet Bella for the first time!
3. The Zoo
4. The Farmpark...and watching Auntie Laur hold her nose the entire time! It was truly a labor of love for her to come due to her distaste of animals!
5. Peaceful walks
6. Reading on the deck
7. Superb homemade meals...things just taste better then you don't have to prepare them!
8. Garage SALE-ing!
9. Spending time with the sistas....THANK YOU DOULA!!!
10. Seeing old friends

Taflinger Happenings...
5.16.09
I am often unable to write much on these posts due to lack of time [the Lord has been talking to me about proper time management]. But today both boys are sleeping so I thought I'd provide a quick update to my family and friends on our life here in Kokomo, IN.
Well this Spring we were able to get our house sided after a horrible storm left us with numerous holes in our current siding. In addition, the another storm took down our fence. As a result, we thought that we'd better get that fixed since Caleb LOVES being outside and we'd feel better if he has a safe area to play in [see picture].

Travis' cousin has been serving in Iraq and was able to come home for several days. We were able to see him and spend some much needed time with him. Thank you for your service to our country Kol!!!
Our little garden continues to blossom and grow! We are almost ready for it to be transported outside but we are going to wait a few more days to ensure that the frost won't harm them. My father refers to his peppers as his 'boys' and takes such good care of them. I can relate to this because gardening is such a careful hobby...one that Travis and I have grown to love. I can't wait to enjoy a spinach salad outside on our deck with our vegetables!
The boys continue to bring us such joy!! Micah has been rolling over [from belly to back] for a few weeks now and is very close to rolling the other way as well. He is sleeping 12 hours at night and on a great 4 hour feeding schedule. I feel that he is so much easier than Caleb but it could also be that we feel more confident being parents this time around.
Caleb is getting so smart..able to say most of his letters and his vocabulary is growing [with his favorite word CAR!!]. We have begun the Potty Training process by introducing Caleb to the potty. He sits on it after breakfast and before bed. Upon his sitting he receives a treat [fruit loops]!!
This summer will be very busy for us with a great deal of traveling. Travis plans on going to CA to see his friend play in the major league. I am going home for 10 whole days in May, helping with a Spiritual Retreat in town, going to several weddings, and spending time at the pool with the boys!
Today I went to a few garage sales looking for some new cars for Caleb. I was so excited to get home and give them to him. But I was reminded of the verse in Matthew that says "So if you sinful people know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give good gifts to those who ask him."
How much more does the Lord love to give to us if we ask Him!!
Lord we ask for your wisdom! We Love you!

Today is one of those days where I want 12 kids [if they all behave as wonderful as my two!!]. Caleb was sharing his cars with his bubby, Micah is sleeping and eating great, and I am being productive- what a wonderful day!!

Updates
5.7.09
I usually don't have time to write much here but today it's 9:34a.m and BOTH my boys are still sleeping!!! I think the rain induces great sleep! I just wanted to briefly update you and the Taflinger happenings....Micah is sleeping through the night in his big boy crib! Wait! I hear Caleb-
...it is now 12:19 and Micah is back down and Caleb is enjoying his lunch of whole wheat bagel, green beans dipped in ranch and a fruit smoothie with oranges, bananas, wheat germ, oatmeal, full-fat yogurt, milk and apple juice...we'll put some meat on those bones sooner or later!!
As I was saying...Micah is sleeping great and is such a JOY!! In one word he is: SWEET!! His personality is just so laid back and 'chill.' He looks like me but acts like his daddy!
As mentioned earlier, Caleb is now pacy free and behaving very well without it. The next task is POTTY TRAINING....I'm reading up on the how's, when's, and where's now. Lord give me grace!
Today is the National Day of Prayer so let's take some time to pray for our Nation!
Love you all
