Baby Addy and Funny Boys

Aunt BZ and Landen at Addy's Baby Dedication
Grams and Addy. What a doll baby!

Took the boys to Octoberfest downtown. Ended the night with a VW drive-in.

Walking the boys!

We made a rocket ship. Caleb is demonstrating the BLAST OFF!!

Excerpts from my Caleb Journal:

We were outside playing and Caleb said, “Mom, let’s play David and Goliath!” Caleb wanted to be David so by default, I was Goliath. All of a sudden he charges me and screams, “I COME AT YOU IN THE NAME OF THE LORD!” I was looking for rocks to be catapulted my way but was spared by his poor aim!

Travis was praying with Caleb at night and Travis said, “Lord thanks for being so faithful!” And Caleb agreed, “Yeah, thanks for being soo playful Lord!”

STORIES ABOUT MICAH!! I was reading him a book and he pointed to a pinata- wanting to know what it was. I told him it was a pinata and if you hit it at a Birthday party candy will come out. He thought about it for a moment and then began pounding on the book!! He was trying to get the candy out. A similar story happen while Micah and I were looking out the window hoping to see Daddy coming home [this happens about once a week where I am waiting at the door for him...on those long days!] I told Micah we can’t eat until Daddy gets home. He waits a minute and starts pounding on the window screaming DADDY DADDY! He was apparently hungry!
Travis and I are heading to Miami, FL on Friday for an extended weekend. We will be attending the wedding of my wonderful college roommate and also celebrating our FIVE year wedding anniversary! More pics to come!

Kokomo Transportation!

Kokomo recently starting running FREE public transportation! The boys were eager to try it out. It passes our house every hour so they have been admiring it's luster hourly! Here are the boys waiting for the Trolley!
On the Trolley...completely enthralled!

All Aboard!

The Trolley can take us to Walmart and back...I'm just not sure how well that will work as I juggle both boys and groceries. For we'll stick to trips to IUK for the playroom!
Kokomo just keeps getting better and better!

My boys....

Chicago/Beth Moore!

My sister and sis-in-law decided to road trip to Chicago to attend a Beth More Conference this past weekend...here is a glimpse of our fantastic trip!
We met Lin in South Bend and decided to pitch a tent there for the night. Overall, a great little camp site and even greater company.

We made it! Beth Moore Live in Chicago, IL

It goes without saying that we were moved by the conference and challenged by Beth to live with the Law of Kindness on our Lips!
Proverbs 31:26

While in Chicago we attended Moody Bible Church.
We had the honor of hearing Pastor Erwin Lutzer speak on the Judgement Seat. Check out his notes. I venture to say the best sermon I have heard on this topic. I was captivated!

Spending fast...

Travis and I are on a "Spending Fast"...we are trying to be mindful of our purchases. So I was overjoyed to receive a phone call from a great friend informing me of some items she spotted that were left curbside in her neighborhood. Within moments, I had the family loaded in our mini-van ready for some treasures. Sure enough this dresser pictured above was being dumped! Travis [who was slightly embarrassed] assisted me in salvaging this mighty find and delivering it safely to our home! It was painted in perfect colors for our new spare room remodel! What a great find-thanks Amy! :) Also recovered were some outside pillows for our swing and some greenery!
Secondly, I've been having an itch to decorate our Porch with some Fall attire. So I shopped 'upstairs' in my closet for some inspiration. Low and behold, I found this suitcase and painted our name on it and cut some paper sunflowers and called it art! Let's see what else I can uncover, tomorrow I'm hitting up the recycling bin! :)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DARCY!!!

Fun in the Sun

Brothers. Watching the Rain. Embracing. Adorable!
We went to New Buffalo, MI this past weekend to celebrate Aunt BZ's Birthday!! The weather was perfect and the boys enjoyed their larger than life 'sandbox!'

Stud Muffin!

Cousin Landen and Caleb at a camp out with Grandpa Taf! They loved it!

"Cuz...."
Sorry, I've been slightly MIA from the blogger world. Unfortunately, I lost my camera and my mother-in-law is graciously allowing me to borrow hers until ours shows up!
Today the boys had their 3 year and 1.5 year check up. Here are their Stats:
Caleb Height: 37 in
Weight: 29.5
Micah Height: 32in
Weight: 23.5
No worries, issues, or concerns...growing nicely just a bit small!
Here's an excerpt from the Caleb Journal:
9.1.2010 Everyday we are reminding the boys not to get water outside the tube. Tonight was not exception but Caleb managed to dump an entire cup of water outside the tube. Travis said, “Caleb, you know the rules- keep the water in the bathtub.” Caleb looks at him with really big eyes, “Daddy, I HAD NO IDEA I wasn't supposed to do that!” oh brother!
Caleb came running over to me as I was cooking and said, "Mommy mommy, Bingo was his name-o!" randomness that I love!
I went to Caleb's preschool orientation this week and found myself very tearful during the presentation. Not because Caleb is getting bigger and going to school but rather because I was so impressed with this Christian preschool and their ability to incorporate Scripture into so much of their curriculum. It confirmed within my spirit that we had made the right decision re: where to send him. I also began to think about all the sacrifices my parents made so that I could attend both a christian highschool and college. Overwhelmed with gratitude!!
