Micah was two months on Thursday and I can't believe how fast time goes by! Travis and I already notice a huge difference in the temperance of the two boys. Micah is easy to soothe and gentle. Caleb is 'tenacious' and assertive. We love both boys! Micah is averaging 7 hours a night [Wonderful] and is on a great schedule.
Update on the "Operation Remove Pacifier"....he is still struggling and missing his 'binky.' Travis and I have become a united front and have stayed strong to our new mission..despite the tantrums. Speaking of my loving hubby...he continues to amaze me with his consistent help with the boys. I am very thankful to him!

On a different note it has been "Operation Lose the Pacifier" week for us! We have removed it from him and only give it to him at night. He cried almost continually the first day, half of the second day and by the third day he was somewhat controlled!

Initially, this was as close as Caleb would go to the elephants...however at the end of the evening he was trying to pet them!

My post was cut short yesterday due to the fact that Micah was in my lap and it was becoming difficult to type with one hand.

However, I would recommend the Page Circus to any moms out there in cyberspace!! Caleb absolutely loved it! There were elephants, lions, tigers [and bears oh my], camels, dogs, horses, and ponies! It was so neat to see Caleb's face light up whenever the animals came out!

So Caleb loves watching the trucks, buses, and cars go by from his window. Yesterday however, we went outside and was able to see them a little closer...let's just say it was difficult getting him back inside!

First, thank you so much for all of my Birthday wishes...I had a wonderful day. It started by taking the kids to the Monon Center for a Kid's Musical Concert then home for naps and off to the Circus in the evening. Oh, how I love my precious little family!

My parents were able to come into town this weekend to spend some time with the boys. We decided this would be a good weekend since my older sister is expecting her second child in April...my parents will soon have four grandchildren under the age of 2!!

It is also so wonderful when they come to visit. Dad works on some 'home improvements' while mom entertains the boys, cooks, and shops with me! This weekend we went to a Free Women's Event at the Kokomo Center and celebrated my birthday! [They bought us tickets to the Circus that is coming to town...Caleb will love it!]

So we pulled out the old double stroller to take the boys on a walk. You can't see Micah but he is in his car seat in the back enjoying the bumpy ride!!

Caleb is obsessed with car, motorcycles, and trucks right now. Needless to say he was entertained during the entire ride with all of the moving objects!

Micah had his one-month appointment this week [it was actually 6 weeks]. He is growing!!! He weighed 10 pounds 11.6 ounces!! In the 50% for both height and weight for a 6 week old! Praise the Lord! Micah went 6.5 hours between feeds last night...can you believe it!!

Excerpt from my Mommy journal...

You know you are a mom when you can't remember the last 'hot' meal you had or when you appreciate 4 hours of continual sleep! Ahhh the joys of motherhood!

In my Beth Moore study we discussed the different between holding a weaned child verses a nursing baby. A weaned child allows you to hold him without requiring anything in return. Often a nursing child knows that a reward is coming to him so he will allow the mother to hold him. I have come to love the times that Caleb will stop for a moment and just allow me to hold him [he's busy so those times are truly precious!].

Lord thank you for both of my children- they are such a wonderful gift from You!

For those of you who know me, know that I love to journal. So I decided to start my own "Mommy Journal." The adjustment from one child to two is getting easier but I want to remember what I am feeling and experiencing.

My entry today went something like this....

"You know you are a mom if you look in the mirror at 5p.m and ask yourself- 'Have I brushed yet today?'

It think I am the strongest I've ever been in my life right now. I discovered this today as I drove our two-door Geo to Walmart. Despite the lack of power steering and extremely small corridors it's a great family car... After taking our 19 month old out of the car, chasing down a cart, securing him in the cart and then lifting our 6 week old [with his carrier] into the cart- I was exhausted and ready to go home. However, I had to get some essential groceries for tonight's meal....outings take a great deal of planning [must bring snacks, toys, binkies, and diaper bag]!

My admiration for mothers of 4 or 5 children grows by the moment!

According to Dr. Dobson, around 18 months your male children will gravitate towards their fathers. This has occurred with Caleb and daddy. He has been loving his daddy time!!! I feel so blessed that Travis has been such a huge help during this transition from one to two children. I have noticed a huge difference in Caleb's behavior [for the better] since daddy time has increased. I can't say it enough...Travis has been a blessing- as soon as he walks in the door at night he is with Caleb and even takes him in the a.m before he goes to work so I can get Micah fed and ready to go for the day!

In my Beth Moore study this week we discussed Psalm 126 that addresses the blessing of a family. Daily I am reminded of my blessings as I look at my two healthy boys and wonderful husband. These are the best years of my life!!!
