Taflinger Happenings...

Our plants
The boys hard at 'play'

Welcome home Kol

The new fence

5.16.09
I am often unable to write much on these posts due to lack of time [the Lord has been talking to me about proper time management]. But today both boys are sleeping so I thought I'd provide a quick update to my family and friends on our life here in Kokomo, IN.

Well this Spring we were able to get our house sided after a horrible storm left us with numerous holes in our current siding. In addition, the another storm took down our fence. As a result, we thought that we'd better get that fixed since Caleb LOVES being outside and we'd feel better if he has a safe area to play in [see picture].

Travis' cousin has been serving in Iraq and was able to come home for several days. We were able to see him and spend some much needed time with him. Thank you for your service to our country Kol!!!

Our little garden continues to blossom and grow! We are almost ready for it to be transported outside but we are going to wait a few more days to ensure that the frost won't harm them. My father refers to his peppers as his 'boys' and takes such good care of them. I can relate to this because gardening is such a careful hobby...one that Travis and I have grown to love. I can't wait to enjoy a spinach salad outside on our deck with our vegetables!

The boys continue to bring us such joy!! Micah has been rolling over [from belly to back] for a few weeks now and is very close to rolling the other way as well. He is sleeping 12 hours at night and on a great 4 hour feeding schedule. I feel that he is so much easier than Caleb but it could also be that we feel more confident being parents this time around.

Caleb is getting so smart..able to say most of his letters and his vocabulary is growing [with his favorite word CAR!!]. We have begun the Potty Training process by introducing Caleb to the potty. He sits on it after breakfast and before bed. Upon his sitting he receives a treat [fruit loops]!!
This summer will be very busy for us with a great deal of traveling. Travis plans on going to CA to see his friend play in the major league. I am going home for 10 whole days in May, helping with a Spiritual Retreat in town, going to several weddings, and spending time at the pool with the boys!
Today I went to a few garage sales looking for some new cars for Caleb. I was so excited to get home and give them to him. But I was reminded of the verse in Matthew that says "So if you sinful people know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give good gifts to those who ask him."
How much more does the Lord love to give to us if we ask Him!!
Lord we ask for your wisdom! We Love you!
