Eagle Spotting! 4.12.12

What is it about little feet that are so sweet??!!
So the big buzz around Kokomo, IN is that there has been Bald Eagle spottings!! We loaded up the kids and headed out to find them. Micah doing a little research on the computer on our way...
Caleb was talking to Pa on the phone about Eagles....
Micah brought his binoculars
WE FOUND THEM!! It truly was amazing to watch as they flew through the clear sky. Their nest was large enough to fit 2 humans! Caleb said, "Dad, I love you so much...thanks for taking me to see the eagles!"
He satisfies me with the good things I long for. Then I feel young and strong again, just like an eagle. Psalm 103:4-6

29 Years! 3.25.12

Following in the footsteps of my mother, I like to make Birthday celebrations last days, weeks, and sometimes even entire months!! My Birthday celebration started a week ago when my wonderful in laws babysat so Travis and I could go to Indy to shop and eat! Then Thursday night at our usual 'girls night' and my friend brought a cake and made the night so special [which included a Juice Bar!]. Then on my actual Birthday, we had a family cookout and ended the night with our Small Group Cook-Out. What a great Birthday Week!! :)

Will I see you in heaven?

The Lord has been prompting me to start teaching the boys about sharing the Gospel. At lunch we were discussing the importance of having Jesus in our hearts. Caleb asked me if I thought our neighbors had Jesus in their hearts. I said that I didn't know but that we should begin praying for them. This did not satisfy his little heart. Caleb was headed for the door! I tried to appease him and asked him if we could call some people on the phone and ask them. He was persistent...his neighbors needed Jesus. On his tippy toes he reached up and rang their doorbells and when they came to the door Caleb asked, "Um excuse me- do you have Jesus in your heart?" All three neighbors said "Yes," and Caleb just said, "See you in heaven" as he headed to the next door. Just like that. Simple. When do I lose my urgency? I can remember being about 8 or 9 asking a man behind me at Dairy Queen if he died that night where would he go?' No fear. No pride. Just simple. Lord give me that boldness!!

Silly boy...

I peaked in on Micah last night and this is how I found him...asleep in his trunk!

Marriage Retreat- Gary Thomas

My mother informed us that Gary Thomas was coming to Sugarcreek, Ohio for a Marriage Conference. Gary wrote the book, Sacred Marriage so we JUMPED at the chance to go!! My parents watched the kids and we made a nice long weekend trip to Sugarcreek! Here's the Carlisle Inn...so wonderful!
