Bathroom Update

Old Bathroom
New Bathroom!

For those of you who know me....I love change!! So when Travis tells me that we will be living in our current home for FOREVER, I feel a bit shaky. However, I have managed to release some of that oppression by occasionally [okay, more than occasionally] rearranging the furniture, redecorating the walls and the like. Well the above project was a much needed update to cover over some rough spots on our walls where trim once hung. I couldn't find any textured wallpaper to get the job done so I cut up some bamboo shoots that I had on display in another room and this was the result! I love my little bamboo oasis!
The ribbons hide the staples...my father would have never aloud 'ribbons' in the bathroom but Travis doesn't care what I do as long as I don't spend any money! The total cost of this upgrade was ~ $15.00 but was waived because it was truly needed and not just a result of my fickle design style.

Fun in the Fall!

Caleb playing a little Colts Cornhole!
On Saturday we had a Bridges Fundraiser entitled, "Bikers for Bridges." Almost 40 riders came out to support Bridges- which just melted my heart!! They were the most sensitive and giving people! Caleb proceeded to give the majority of the riders 'knuckles' as if he was saying, "Thank you for supporting my dad- keep up the good work!" Caleb is just so fearless!! Speaking of fearless- Caleb has jumped out of his crib three times this past week. Honestly, I'm surprised it hasn't happen sooner. I think it may be time for a toddler bed...

Caleb found an old sling that I used for Micah and asked to 'go for a ride.' Except after the ride was over he didn't want to get out!! Funny boy! Notice how tightly he clutches his cars. Last night he woke up at 4a.m and sat up, said GREEN CAR and went back to sleep. He lovesss green car!

Girls Night Out!

As you know, Caleb lovessss cars right now. A few months ago I saw this CARS tent at Walgreens but didn't buy it. Well I regretted my choice and have since been to numerous Walgreens in search of one. My search was unsuccessful until last night!! We found the last CARS tent and Aunt BZ bought it for him!! He loves it. Here is a picture of Micah and I in our tent. So fun!

This past weekend was the Annual "Girl's Night Out." This year part of the proceeds went towards Bridges Outreach Inc. The night's festivities included a High Heel Run, 5K Run, and Zumba on the Square! It was a great night for a great cause! A BIG THANK YOU TO ALL HOW PARTICIPATED!! Here we are post-run, awaiting the awards ceremony!

We don't do much for Halloween but Grandma She She gave Micah a Zebra outfit and I just couldn't resist putting him in it for a pic!! What a doll!

Fall

While at our friend's house last night we attempted to take a picture of the boys on their porch. So here we are desperatly trying to get them to look for the picture....failing miserably. Caleb's reading a book, Miles is counting the hay, and Micah...well, he's always so compliant!
So sweet!!

This was the best one of the bunch!! Maybe next year!

I never really enjoyed Fall. I prefer the hotter months and the activites associated with Summer. However, this year I find myself excited to take the boys on some Fall festivites! Apple picking, pumpkin carving, corn-mazing are all in our plans for this year! Bring on the crisp Fall air, I'm ready for you this year!

Sweet Caleb Jay in his undies!

I heard an awesome sermon on T.V by Charles Stanely and I thought I'd share the 10 main points...

Top Ten Things to Remember when Raising Children:
1. Spend quality time with them. There is NO substitution for mom and dad. Time spent with your child is an investment in their eternity.
2. Listen to them carefully so they'll listen to you when they need to.
3. Admit fault
4. Love them unconditionally.
5. Discipline your children motivated by the desire to protect them.
6. Discipline your children motivated by the desire for them to be all they can be.
7. Lead them to fully understand their ultimate accountability is to God.
8. Teach them that the most important thing in life is their relationship with Christ!!!!
9. Etch into their minds that God has a plan for their life.
10. Obey God and leave all the consequences to Him!
Great reminders!!!
Have a great Tuesday!
